| There are numerous galleries
in Glasgow for those who are keener to experience the growth
of the mind rather than the body. The jewel in Glasgow’s
crown is the world famous Burrell
Collection, which is within half an hour's drive from the
house.
Blair is in North Ayrshire and a short drive South takes you
to the heart of Burns Country. The birthplace of Rabbie Burns
in Alloway is now augmented by the Burns
National Heritage Park and a wonderful place to visit.
Culzean
Castle is near Maybole and stands on the cliffs looking out
towards Arran and Ailsa Craig. Within the Castle grounds are a
deer park, swan pond, children's play area, picnic area, restaurant,
visitor centre, and a ranger service. This magnificent Robert
Adam building is well worth a visit.
The coastal restaurants of Ayr and Glasgow on the banks of the
Clyde rival anything London has to offer. Close at hand we have
two superb restaurants. Award-winning Braidwoods
and Fins
fish restaurant are well worth a visit and need to be booked
in advance. In addition the surrounding lowlands are steeped in
Anglo-Celtic history, with various National
Trust for Scotland properties close at hand for a perfect
day out.
The Ayrshire
and Arran Tourist Board website details a range of visitor
attractions throughout Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran.
